About Us

A Vermont Family Company

Chocolate is our passion, and we want to make it yours. Since the first truffle Jim made in 1983, to the Five Star Bars® rolling off the line today, our goal is to infuse passion, integrity, and an unrivaled commitment to community in everything we do to make the world a better and more joyful place.

Let Chocolate Change Your World®

Indulge. Restore. Repeat. You can feel good about knowing your favorite chocolates are on a mission to change the world with every sweet bite. We're donating 1% of sales to social and environmental sustainability initiatives. From clean water projects and educational programs for cacao farmers, to enhanced recycling projects and funding programs for families experiencing food or housing insecurity.

Caring for Our Community

As a gourmet chocolate company born from a dare to do better, and rooted in a vision to change the world one piece of chocolate at a time, we proudly support a variety of non-profit organizations and programs through donations and annual contributions.

We Proudly Support:

At Lake Champlain Chocolates, caring for our communities and our environment is rooted in our vision. Each year we contribute 7-10% of our pre-tax profits to non-profit organizations and programs.

The Flynn Center is a renowned theater located in the heart of Burlington, Vermont that believes that the performing arts have the power to unify, strengthen, and inspire.

For more than 40 years, the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival has filled the streets of Burlington with the sweet sounds of jazz music. Some years, we create a limited-edition Jazz Fest chocolate bar to raising money for this free music festival.

The Intervale Center is on a mission to strengthen our community food systems that uplift farms, land, and people. Our work with the Intervale Center’s Conservation Nursery helped plant 68,000 trees for clean water initiatives.

The Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program works to help those who have been uprooted from their homes to rebuild a new life in Vermont. This organization holds a special place in our hearts, because it has helped a number of our employees and their families.

As the largest art and history museum in northern New England, the Shelburne Museum encompasses a stunning 45-acre campus and features over 150,000 works of art, design, and Americana. If you visit, be sure to take a ride on the Lake Champlain Chocolates sponsored solar-powered shuttle, officially named “A Sweet Ride”!

Formed as a response to the growing homeless population in Burlington, COTS offers emergency shelter, homelessness prevention services, and long-term housing solutions for individuals and families. Each year, we take part in the COTs walk to  help raise funds for the non-profit organization and increase awareness about homelessness in our community.
