10 Things to do at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival
June 3, 2016
The anticipation is building…Like a child awaiting the arrival of Christmas morning; we have been eagerly waiting for June 3 and the launch of the 2016 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. For ten amazing days, music fills the air as this incredible festival takes over the streets of Burlington, Vermont. It is truly an experience not to be missed.
For nearly 20 years, Lake Champlain Chocolates has been making the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival a whole lot sweeter. And this year, we are out to make it bigger and better and sweeter than ever before. And just how are we going to do that? It’s easy— to make these the sweetest ten days ever, we have created a list of the top ten things to do at the 2016 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival:
It doesn't get any more delicious than this jazzy blend of organic milk chocolate, Dominican coffee and cacao nibs. (Plus, $2.00 from the sale of each bar gets donated to the Artist-in-Residence Program.)
Still drowsy from your late night at the Long Trail Live party? Stop on by our store at 65 Church St and pick up a go-go shake. This milkshake, made from our delicious ice cream blended with two shots of espresso, will have you humming and buzzing to the music all afternoon.
5. Play it up on the Church St Marketplace
Join us Monday night on the Church Street Marketplace for free ice cream. Feeling lucky? Try your hand at our sweet games for a chance to win delicious chocolate! (You might even get a chance to be on WPTZ Channel 5 News.)
6. Attend the reunion of Bèla Fleck & the Flecktones
Didn’t win our Get Jazzed Up sweepstakes? Don’t fret, you and your friends can still take a chocolate factory tour and learn all about how we make our irresistibly delicious chocolates or discover how to slow down and taste the chocolate at our weekend chocolate tastings.
9. Music, chocolate and more music
With so many local Jazz musicians playing at the smaller restaurants and venues around Burlington, it’s hard to pick just one to attend. On any afternoon of the festival, you’ll find us strolling the streets and enjoying the sweet sounds of the many up-and-coming local Jazz musicians and students. (If you see us, come say hello — we’ll be the one eating the cone of Moka Fleck ice cream.)
10. Go out swingin’
We couldn’t think of a better way to end the festival than taking in the musical styling of Grammy-awards winning singer Diane Schuur and the infamous Count Basie Orchestra. Don't miss out, this show is going to be LEGENDARY!
