Shipping and Handling Costs Per Recipient Address:

2-Day and Next Day Air Service :

For Next Day Air service, add $17.50 to the above ground rates. 
For 2-Day Air service, add $9.50 to the above ground rates. 
Hawaii, Florida & Alaska must always ship 2-Day or Next Day.
Please note: When shipping to Alaska, these services are not guaranteed; remote areas will take longer.

Number of Days to Ship UPS Ground

Below is a map of the number of days it takes to ship from Lake Champlain Chocolates in Vermont. If you are shipping to an address outside of New England, there may be additional shipping charges to expedite your order so it doesn't melt in transit. See our Summer Shipping Policy for details.

Delivery Options & Deadlines

We ship exclusively with UPS and transit times vary depending on destination. Standard deliveries are only made on weekdays.

Standard delivery via ground service takes 1-6 business days. If you wish, 2 Day (delivery within 2 business days), Next Day (delivery within one business day) Air Service, and Saturday Shipping are available for an additional charge. Orders placed after 2:00PM EST will not ship until the next business day.

Saturday Shipping Policy

Saturday delivery is intended for residential addresses. You may choose this option for delivery at a place of business only if you are certain that the business will be open. Please include the name of the business in the address. Unfortunately, this option is not available for hospitals, as most will not process deliveries on a Saturday. You must call us to arrange for Saturday delivery. The cost is $30 in addition to standard ground shipping.

Summer Shipping Policy

For shipments to warm weather destinations and during the Summer months, we must ship orders via the following methods to prevent chocolates from melting in transit.

May 15 - May 31
Ground Service and 2nd Day Air orders are shipped on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only to ensure safe delivery.  Next Day orders may be shipped on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Ground Service and Next Day orders may be shipped on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only to ensure safe delivery. To prevent chocolates from sitting on a truck over the weekend and melting, orders are not shipped out on Friday.

Holiday Ordering Deadlines

For arrival by Christmas, Sunday, December 25, 2011 (delivery by Friday, December 23), please order by 2pm ET on the following dates:
Standard Delivery - Friday, December 16*
Standard to AL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NC, OH, SC, TN, and WI – Tuesday, December 20*
Standard to DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV – Wednesday, December 21*
Standard to CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, and VT – Thursday, December 22*
2-Day Delivery - Wednesday, December 21
Next Day Delivery - Thursday, December 22

*Please note that UPS does not guarantee timely Standard (Ground) Delivery between December 12 and December 24 (you may want to allow an extra day or two just to be safe!).

For arrival by New Year's Day, Sunday, January 1, 2012 (delivery by Friday, December 30), please order by 2pm ET on the following dates:
Standard Delivery - Friday, December 23
2-Day Delivery - Wednesday, December 28
Next Day Delivery - Thursday, December 29

Note: Late deliveries are always possible, but we've done our best to ensure they're as infrequent as possible.

Special Handling

Due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we take special care to make certain your chocolates arrive in perfect condition. Each package comes surrounded by Lake Champlain Chocolates' signature tissue paper and with a personalized gift message. We pack each box with special insulation and gel ice as needed.

Shipping rates and methods vary by time of year. From May 10 to September 21, we take extra precautions and ship via 2-Day Air or Next Day Air, as needed. There is an extra charge of $9.50 (2 Day Air) and $17.50 (Next Day Air) added to your standard shipping cost. We pack each box with special insulation and gel ice to ensure the safe arrival of your chocolates.

For shipments to warm weather destinations and during the Summer months, we ship orders on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only - to prevent chocolates from sitting on a truck over a weekend and to ensure safe delivery. Orders shipped UPS Ground to New England may be sent on Thursday, as well as orders shipped Overnight.

Sales Tax

Local and state sales tax is charged on orders (both on merchandise and shipping charges) being shipped to addresses in the state of New York. These tax rates vary by city and county. For specific amounts, please call 1-800-465-5909.

Restrictions

Please note that we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. You must provide a street address for your order. Be sure to include appropriate suite or apartment numbers when necessary to ensure proper delivery.

Deliveries are only made on weekdays. UPS does not deliver on weekends. We may choose not to ship an order over the weekend so your chocolates will arrive in perfect condition upon receipt.

Due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we are not able to ship outside of the U.S.
