Vermont Public Radio and Chocolate- A Crazy Combination.

Thirty-six years ago a group of Vermonters got together to start a public radio station in Vermont.  People thought they were crazy, Vermont was too small a state to maintain a radio station supported solely by its listeners.  Similarly, 29 years ago Jim Lampman started a small gourmet chocolate business, with the goal of rivaling the Belgians.  People thought he was crazy too.

Well, here we are in 2011 and Lake Champlain Chocolates has been called “the best chocolate in the country” by the New York Times and Vermont Public Radio is consistently ranked as one of the most-listened-to public radio stations in the country.

Lake Champlain Chocolates has always supported VPR, whether it’s providing chocolate to its volunteers or underwriting certain programs.  This year, we’re pleased to support VPR on the first day of their pledge drive by sending everyone who pledges today, February 8th, a Valentine’s Day treat!  All you need to do is pledge today by clicking here.  It’s up to you what you do with the chocolate… share it, give it as a gift or keep it all to yourself!
