Summer is not over- yet!

For some, the middle August means summer is winding down:  school is starting soon and some yellow leaves may have been spotted.  But for us at LCC we are just getting going!

With the Art Hop, Grand Point North Festival and Eat by Northeast all coming up in September there is still a lot to celebrate.

Always the weekend after Labor Day, we’ve been a sponsor of the Art Hop almost since its beginning.  Vermont’s largest exhibition of the visual arts, the Art Hop is one huge party in the South End of Burlington which also just happens to be right out our front door.  There is live music scattered in and out of gallerys, studios and back alleys, food trucks everywhere you turn, custom-designed t-shirts, mini-golf made out of recycled materials, brewery tours and tastings, outdoor sculptures, a fashion showthe list goes on.  Chocolate Sculptress Emily will be creating a series of chocolate sculptures this year on display at the South End Kitchen.  It’s always a surprise what Emily’s theme will be until the big reveal on Friday night. Come join us for the biggest bash of the year in Burlington’s south end.

Next up is our good friend Grace Potter with her annual Grand Point North two- day music event on the Waterfront in Burlington.  Along with two nights of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the event features acts such as The Devil Makes Three (another VT band!), the legendary Dr. John, and Lake Street Dive.   Plus more great local food – because we can’t ever get enough here in Burlington.  Tickets are on sale now.

New this year, Eat x Northeast wraps up this trio of festivals.   The three day event held at Oakledge Park, a short walk from here and right on Lake Champlain, celebrates local food and drink along with more live music (free!) and learning from local chefs, including our very own from the South End Kitchen.  Lake Champlain Chocolates will be hosting abeer and chocolate pairing event (typically only offered at the Brewer’s Festival in July) on Saturday afternoon- tickets go on sale August 15!  We’ll remind you next week because these tickets will go fast!

Art. Music. Food.  Sounds like the making of some good times to us.  Let’s go!
