Lake Champlain Chocolates debuts New Organic Chocolate Bars and Gift Boxes
Unveiled at 2012 NASFT Summer Fancy Food Show
BURLINGTON, VT- Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC) is exhibiting at the 2012 NASFT Summer Fancy Food Show in the Vermont Pavilion at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. from June 17 to 19. The Vermont chocolate maker, known for excellent-quality and small-batch confections, is showcasing a variety of irresistible products ideal for the upcoming fall and holiday seasons at booth #3423.
Raising the bar with organic
Lake Champlain Chocolates has added to its line of organic chocolate gifts, with two new 70% dark chocolate bars: Peru Organic Chocolate Bar and Cherry Peruvian Organic Chocolate Bar. Made with organic, single-origin cocoa grown sustainably on plantations in the Apurimac Valley of Peru, the bars feature a custom recipe creating a deep, complex, dark chocolate with forward juicy berry tones, a slight sourness, and an earthy quality. The Cherry Peruvian Bar is made with organic, tart, dried cherries from Northern Michigan and complements the fruitiness already present in the Peru Organic Dark Chocolate Bar. Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans, considered the finest and most balanced vanilla beans available, help meld the complex elements of the Dark Cherry bar.
“The classic flavor combination and the health benefits of dark chocolate and cherries, along with consumers' desires to indulge while making a thoughtful purchase, fits with the future trends we expect to see with chocolate bar sales,” says Allyson Myers, Director of Sales for LCC. “As the first high-cocoa content bar in our organic chocolate line, we’re proud to be able to provide the transparency consumers are looking for in their chocolate. In addition, all ingredients are certified organic and the packaging materials are printed locally.” These two new bars will be available for purchase online from the Lake Champlain Chocolates website beginning in July 2012.
Bold, New Designs for All-Occasion Line
Lake Champlain Chocolates is pleased to introduce a new design for its signature line of products: Chocolate Selections, Chocolate Truffles, and Chocolates of Vermont gift boxes. Drawing inspiration from the color palette and sensory experience found in their Vermont retail stores, the new design brings a more cohesive look to LCC’s gift box collection.
“Our fanatical attention to detail really drove this project,” states Jim Lampman, Founder and President of LCC. “The packaging must live up to the chocolate inside. We wanted a compelling, consistent design for these best-selling gift boxes so the consumer would easily recognize the LCC brand and integrity.”
At a time when companies may be cutting back on their boxed assortments, LCC recognized there are many gifting occasions when a bar or bag of chocolate just isn’t appropriate. Consumers need ready-to-impress gifts; and pairing classic confections that feature a local taste of Vermont with elegant and approachable designs delivers just what today’s customer desires.
With wide appeal to holiday, corporate, and all-occasion shoppers, the gift box collection includes a new Chocolates of Vermont 24pc gift box, the best-selling 15pc and 30pc Selection Boxes, and the 9pc and 16pc Truffle Gift Boxes.
