Cupid and the Easter Bunny Have Two New Treats to Share

Lake Champlain Chocolates promotes two new spring holiday confections

Burlington, Vt. – Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC) will be exhibiting at the 2012 NASFT Winter Fancy Food Show at San Francisco’s Moscone Center from January 15 to 17.  In addition to showcasing annual top-sellers, the Vermont-based company will promote two new sweet treats: for Cupid, a new offering in their line of chocolate hearts, and for the Easter Bunny, an organic version of their chocolate Easter bunnies

Show Love with the BIG Caramel Heart

New this year to LCC’s Valentine chocolates collection is the BIG Caramel Heart, a large chocolate heart oozing with caramel made with GMO-free brown rice syrup instead of corn syrup.  The caramel is slow-cooked to develop a complex flavor profile and then combined with locally sourced Vermont heavy cream from a third-generation dairy farm, and cultured butter from award-winning Vermont Butter & Cheese Creamery.  Not only does this make the caramel exceptionally fresh, it also limits the number of processed ingredients used.

“We thought it was important to provide our customers with a high quality product free of genetically modified ingredients; therefore we made the decision to use naturally sweet brown rice syrup,” said Eric Lampman, LCC’s Research and Development Manager.

“By combining the GMO-free syrup with locally sourced butter and cream, the end result is a smooth, complex caramel with notes of butterscotch.”

Recent research indicates that products labeled as non-GMO are topping the list of natural product market trends for 2012 with 93% of health and natural consumers looking for non-GMO products.

These 3¼ inch hearts are hand-wrapped in elegant foil and available in both gourmet milk and dark chocolate with a suggested retail price of $7.49.

Hop into Easter with an Organic Chocolate Bunny

LCC is also helping the Easter Bunny prepare for his big day with the Organic Chocolate Hopp’n Bunny.  Handmade with carefully tempered organic and GMO-free chocolate, these gourmet chocolate bunnies will delight children and please parents concerned with providing wholesome treats.

The 5 ½ inch-long bunny is packaged in a compostable cellophane bag and tied with a ribbon created with yarn made from recycled plastic bottles.  It is available in both milk and dark chocolate, with a suggested retail price of $11.99.

These products can be viewed at Booth #1066.  All Lake Champlain Chocolates’ products are all natural, preservative free, and kosher certified.  For further information, please visit
