Lake Champlain Chocolates Announces Fourth Limited-Edition Bar for 2016 Burlington Discover Jazz Festival
May 24 2016:: BURLINGTON, VT – For nearly 20 years, Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC), has been making the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival a little bit sweeter. This year, the Vermont chocolatier introduces Moka Fleck— a mocha bar like no other: organic 43% milk chocolate mixed with fine-ground Dominican coffee and delectably crunchy cacao nibs.
“This year’s bar is inspired by headliners Béla Fleck and the Flecktones,” says Meghan Fitzpatrick, Marketing and Communications Specialist at LCC. “Like us, they got their start 30 years ago making something new and distinctive. So we created this blend of dark-milk chocolate, cacao nibs, and coffee to honor their fusion of bluegrass, jazz, and virtuoso playing.”
Embracing the subtle flavors of a café au lait, this bar starts off nutty, with hints of a slightly tart chocolate and punches of coffee, and then finishes with the taste of sweet chocolate. The flecks of crunchy cacao nibs add a surprise layer of bold flavor and texture. This is the festival’s all-star ensemble of flavor and fun! And in support of jazz awareness and appreciation, $2.00 from each bar sold goes to support the BDJF’s Artist-in-Residence program.
Every year a celebrated jazz musician is invited to spend time in the community, participate in music education, and engage with festivalgoers, local groups and social service agencies. By reaching out to people of all ages through the Burlington area, the Artist-in-Residence expands jazz audiences, provides enriching experiences and helps make the festival an engaging and inspiring 10-day event for music lovers of all ages. This year, famed pianist Marcus Roberts will be the Artist-in-Residence during the festival.
Priced at $5.00, the bar will be available for purchase from May 30 to June 12. It can be found at Lake Champlain Chocolates’ retail locations on Church Street, Pine Street and in Waterbury Center, and online at www.lakechamplainchocolates.com. Moka Fleck will also be available at Flynn Center concessions.
